Lumbar Spine Fractures

Fracture of the lumbar spine (lower back) is a serious injury that affects men four times more than women. It typically results from high-energy trauma, such as auto or sports accidents and falls, but also can stem from weakened bone due to osteoporosis.

Emergency immobilization, coordinated by trained rescue workers, is necessary to prevent further spinal damage.
