The Center for Orthopaedics Sponsors the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) New Jersey Run/Walk

The Center for Orthopaedics is a proud sponsor the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) New Jersey Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer. The 23rd annual edition of event, which took place on September 29th, 2013 in West Orange featured over 1,000 families, friends, loved ones and sponsors who came out to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of this disease. Ovarian cancer ranks fifth in cancer deaths among women.

Fundraising supports advocacy efforts of NOCC to raise awareness, with the goal of ultimately increasing survival rates for women with ovarian cancer. Diagnosis is crucial in this effort. The five-year survival rate is over 90% when caught early and confined to the ovary. This is why it is imperative that the signs and symptoms are recognized by both women, and also by their families and the medical community.

The Center for Orthopaedics supports our community, and was acknowledged for its sponsorship by Barbara Geiger, Chapter Coordinator for Northern NJ-NOCC.
